June 6 - July 17: Yoga and the Environment series. Joanne will be teaching a series of classes on Thursday evenings ...
The Environment is all that surrounds us - part of the Universe, part of our Higher Self.  In this series at Sivananda Yoga, we'll look at What We Can Do to honor our environment.
6/5 - "The 3 R's:  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" - Learn what you can do to live lightly upon the earth.  Techniques to reduce the amount you personally contribute to our waste stream, including reusing, unshopping, and simplifying our lives.
6/19 - "Water Wisdom" - How to be water-wise both indoors and out.  These lessons are important in this drought year, but also in view of global warming and the climate impacts forecast for California.
7/3 - "Greener Gourmet" - We'll talk about local vs organic food, GMOs, the environmental impact of excessive meat consumption, and where to get good food in Los Angeles--all of which can add to gourmet taste!
7/10 - "Power Possibilities" - We'll discuss what you can do to eliminate energy waste and improve efficiency, what "power down" means, and what it will look like as we venture into the second half of our planet's oil supply (Peak Oil).
7/17 - "Transportation Solutions" - We'll cover getting better mpg from your existing vehicle, how to select a greener new vehicle, transitioning to car-free transportation, and Relocalization.
